인도와 독일이 지속가능성과 보건관리를 위한 인공지능(AI) 스타트업 및 연구, 응용을 위한 파트너쉽을 구축하였다고 지텐드라 싱(Jitendra Singh) 과학기술부 (Ministry of Science & Technology) 장관이 베티나 스탁크 와트징거(Bettina Stark-Watzinger) 독일 교육연구부(Ministry of Education & Research) 장관과의 양자회담 후 밝혔다.  

지난 2019년 11월 전(前)독일 메르켈(Merkel) 총리가 델리(Delhi)를 방문하였을 때, 두 정상간에 인공지능(AI) 협력 연구 네트워크 구축에 동의하였다는 것을 상기하며, 두 정상간에 3백5십만 유로(Euro) (한화 약 47억원) 금액을 각각 기부하여, 4년동안 인도-독일간 고등 교육 파트너십 연장을 결정하기도 하였다.

인도-독일은 양자간 전략 분야 중 하나인 과학기술 협력 진행사항에 대해 만족하며, 학계, 연구기관, 산업계의 연대 강화와 전략적 연구 및 파트너십 강화의 중요한 역할을 하고 있다고 언급했다.  

지텐드라 싱(Jitendra Singh) 과학기술부(Ministry of Science & Technology) 장관의 베를린(Berlin) 방문 중 진행된 이 회담에서 전기차, 사이버 물리 시스템, 반도체 기술, 미래 제조업, 그린 수소 연료, 심해 연구 등을 포함한 과학기술분야의 공동 작업 진행을 확인하였다. 지속가능성과 보건관리분야의 인공지능(AI) 응용 분야에서 양국의 선도분야에 대한 맴핑(mapping)을 시작하였다고 전했다.

양국 장관들은 최근 진행된 인도 과학기술청(Department of Science & Technology, DTS)과 독일 연구 재단(German Research Foundation, DFG)간 국제 연구 트레이닝 그룹(International Research Training Groups, IRTG) 프로그램을 지원하기 위한 양해각서(MoU) 체결에 대한 만족감을 표시 한 후, 이를 통해 인도와 독일의 박사과정 학생들의 역량구축을 위한 협력을 강화할 것이라고 언급하였다.

과학 및 공학분야에서 인력 역량개발을 위한 이니셔티브에 대해 만족하며, 과학·공학 분야 여성 참여 (Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research, WISER)가 진행되는  과학기술 프로젝트에 여성 연구자 참여 독려 및 양국 신진 연구자 교환을 통한 인도-독일 과학기술협력 생태계를 구축하는 신진연구자 펠러십(Paired Early Career Fellowships) 등이 진행되고 있다. 산업 펠러십의 경우 독일 산업 생태계에서 젋은 인도 연구자들이 산업계에 참여하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다.  

베티나 스탁크 와트징거(Bettina Stark-Watzinger) 독일 교육연구부(Ministry of Education & Research) 장관은 독일과 인도가 협력하여 양국의 우선 순위로 부각되는 과학 기술 분야에서 파트너쉽을 통해 양국의 과학협력 강화를 지지한다고 언급하였다.

1) 녹색· 지속가능발전 파트너쉽을 위한 협력의향서 (Joint Declaration of Intent on Green and Sustainable Development Partnership) (정상간 합의)

2) 제3국과의 삼자개발 협력 이행 협력의향서(Joint Declaration of Intent on the implementation of Triangular Development Cooperation projects in Third Countries)

3) 기밀정보 상호 보호 및 교환 동의와 인도 외교부와 독일 외교부 사이의 암호화된 직결 소통 구축에 대한 협력의향서 (Joint Declaration of Intent on the establishment of an agreement on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information and on the establishment of an agreement to establish a direct encrypted connection between MEA and German Foreign Office)

4) 인도-독일 재생가능에너지 파트너쉽에 관한 개발협력(Indo-German Development Cooperation Regarding Renewable Energy Partnership)

5) 포괄적인 이주 및 이동 파트너쉽에 협정 체결에 대한 협력의향서 (Joint Declaration of Intent on the Initialing of the Agreement on a Comprehensive Migration and Mobility Partnership)

6) 인도 경영진 및 신진 경연진의 관련분야 고급 훈련에 대한 지속적인 협력에 대한 협력 의향서 (Joint Declaration of Intent on continuation of cooperation in the field of advanced training of corporate executives and junior executives from India)

7) 인도-독일 녹색 수소 타스크 포스(Indo-German Green Hydrogen Task Force) (온라인 체결)

8) 재배생태학 협력의향서 (Joint Declaration of Intent on Agroecology) (온라인 체결)

9) 산림경관복원 협력의향서 (Joint Declaration of Intent on Forest Landscape Restoration) (온라인 체결)
