The Ministry of Communications has announced a strategic partnership between the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), Pilani, to develop a groundbreaking "Multiport Switch with Tuneable Impedance Matching Network." This innovation will enable seamless multi-band communication, supporting 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G on a single broadband antenna, and is designed to align with India’s “Bharat 6G Vision.”
Funded by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme, the project underscores India’s commitment to fostering self-reliance in advanced telecom technology. By leveraging Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) technology, the collaboration seeks to enhance antenna performance, reduce noise interference, and pave the way for next-generation communication systems.
At the signing ceremony, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Dalela, Director of C-DOT, and Dr. Deepak Bansal, Principal Investigator from CSIR-CEERI, emphasized the importance of this partnership in achieving India's self-reliance goals in the telecom sector. Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, reiterated the organization’s commitment to Prime Minister Modi's Bharat 6G Vision and the development of cutting-edge communication infrastructure.
This technology will not only streamline connectivity across existing telecom bands but also lay the foundation for advancements beyond 5G, supporting India's broader goals of innovation, sustainability, and technological leadership in global telecom networks.
